UK Will Open Its New Post-Study Graduate Route Work Visa in July

UK’s new post-study graduate route work visa which will offer international students an opportunity to work in the UK after completing their education will open formally for applications from July 1.

“As we rebuild from the global pandemic we want the world’s brightest talent, who aspire to a career at the highest levels of business, science, the arts and technology to see our United Kingdom as the natural place to fulfil their aspirations” said Minister of Future Borders and Immigration Kevin Foster regarding the new Graduate route visa.

The new Graduate route work visa will ensure that once international students have received a standard qualification from a recognised educational institution in the UK, they will be able to easily secure the status they would need to continue working and living in the dreamland UK.

The grace period for the international students who are hit by the pandemic and are forced to learn remotely is now set to June 21 for them to be physically present in the UK and to be eligible to apply for the new route visa. For students who commenced their studies in UK in Jan or Feb, 2021 will have to be in the the UK by September 27, 2021.

To apply for the Graduate route work visa, international students are required to have completed an eligible course from a recognised higher educational institution in the UK at undergraduate level or higher level. UK student visa consultants in Ahmedabad are optimistic that more and more Indian students could benefit from this new route and could successfully make their career in the UK.

Students with a route visa will be able to work or look for it for maximum of two years after their studies. For Doctoral Ph.D. students, this period is 3 years.

The Graduate route work visa is unsponsored which means applicants will not need a job offer in hand to apply for the route visa. Moreover, there will be no minimum salary bar or caps on numbers which would allow the new graduates to switch jobs and work flexibly to shape their careers.

According to the recent stats, the number of study visas issued to Indian students increased by 42 percent as compared to the previous year. This means Indian students make 23 percent of all the student visas issued by the UK, becoming one of the largest international groups living and studying in the UK.

A best student visa consultant in Ahmedabad explains that as a part of this new route, skilled migrants who manage to get a job offer from a high-growth firm will automatically qualify for UK visa without the need for third-party endorsement or sponsorship.
