May & Sept 2026 Intakes

The "Waiting Game" for
USA Visa Appointments

You have the admission letter. You have the I-20. Now comes the final boss level: Booking the Slot. Here is your survival guide for the 2026 rush.

The Current Situation

If you are targeting May 2026, you are in the "Critical Window." Slots are opening sporadically, and competition is fierce.

If you are targeting September 2026, you are in the "Preparation Phase." The bulk slots for Fall typically open in waves during June and July, but early slots can appear anytime.

120
Days Rule

Technically, F1 visas can be issued 365 days in advance, but bulk slot openings usually align with the student season (Summer for Fall intake).

Your Battle Plan While Waiting

Step 01

Complete the DS-160

Do not wait for a slot to start this form. You need your DS-160 confirmation number to even book a slot. Get this done immediately.

Step 02

Pay the Fees

Pay your MRV (Visa) fee and your SEVIS fee. Valid fee receipts are mandatory to access the scheduling calendar.

Step 03

Monitor (Don't Spam)

Log in to check for slots, but do not refresh more than 3-4 times a day. Excessive refreshing will get your account locked for 72 hours.

🚫 The "Reschedule" Trap

Be careful when grabbing a "practice" date. You are only allowed a limited number of reschedules (usually 3 or 4 depending on the country). Once you exhaust these, you have to pay the visa fee again to book a new slot.

Expected Slot Openings (2026)

FEB - MAR
May Intake Rush: Last minute emergency slots and rejected slot openings.
APR - MAY
Sept Early Birds: First batch of bulk slots for Fall 2026 usually appears here.
JUN - JUL
Mass Openings: The heavy flow of student visa interviews.
